‘ARTICLE 25’

The universal declaration of human rights

Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

The ARTicle 25 project – the key element of Art In The City 2019 – will explore by means of art & theatre the meaning of homelessness and the definition of what is a home in history and in today’s current climate.

We will be working with artists, theatre groups and art historians, plus a wide demographic of experts by experience, throughout the festival, addressing the issues many face on a daily basis.
